Our institutions fulfills its educational aims by organising practical workshops and museum lessons.
Workshops:
“Fire and Iron” which consist of:
- setting a fire using ancient methods
- preparing materials needed for building a slag-pit bloomery furnace.
- forging an iron item in a blacksmith workshop
- throwing/shootig an Iron age distance weapon at a target
“Pottery workshop” - making vases, plates and other items using just hands or forming vessels on a potter’s wheel
“Iron Age daily life” - Ancient customs and habits, learning how to distinguish species of wild grown plants and how they benefit us, with practical workshop of milling of grain into flour.
Each workshop lasts 1 hour
“From iron ore to knife” – presentations of blacksmith workshops, and items forged from iron
“Iron Age daily life” – a stroll through the Iron Age Village and learning about ancients customs and trades
“The Nature of the Świętokrzyski region” - The themes discussed during lessons are Świętokrzyski National Park, Fir-tree primordial forest, Chelmowa Hill and polish larch, a role of beavers in the nearest surroundings of the museum
“Legends of the Świętokrzyski region” - local folklore myths and legends. Witches, Good and bad brigands, legend of the Sacred Deer and Holy Cross Mountain
Each lesson lasts 45 minutes
